Burlington, KY Home Investigation 5/17/08

Ξ May 28th, 2008 | → | ∇ Paranormal Worlds |

At this private home in Northern Kentucky (southwest of Cincinnati), the son of a woman living with her elderly mother called us, wanting to have someone investigate what appeared to be paranormal activity in their late 1970’s bi-level home. The elderly mother of the woman living there, who happens to be deaf, was complaining of something grabbing and hitting her ankles at night while in bed sleeping, leaving her bruised at times, and sore the next day, as well as scared and frustrated. She also reported seeing apparitions of various men and women over time; a woman in a pioneer dress, a person in a “green hood or robe” with a “decomposing face,” as well as a “Fisherman type in over-alls.” She also told of a very bright light that would some times come through the cracks of the door in her bedroom closet. The grandson and daughter, both adults, also reported hearing voices and foot steps, and seeing shadows throughout the main floor of the home. No activity was reported in the bi-level home’s 1st floor. The man who called us also has a young son who stays there, and he has apparently also been “spooked,” and has an issue with one room (the one they fixed up for him there).

Hard to believe the stories, especially from a typical, late 70’s, 3 bedroom, 2 bath home with a fenced-in backyard…I thought.

Research really didn’t turn up much. The general area the home is located in, was notably populated going back to the late 1700’s, with record of the land the home sits on, being farm land for a long time. But again history was sparse regarding the actual property. It’s possible anything from a demolished pioneer or 19th century graveyard, to a Native Indian battle with pioneers took place here.

One of the most interesting things about this home, involved the neighbors, who had also complained of paranormal activity, some of them coming outside to get a peek at what was going on, when we were there. The activity appeared to be happening in more than 2 nearby homes, near the end of the street. Mike ran into some of the neighbors while walking outside, and while they were reluctant to speak of anything happening at first, he said they later started to open up and admit they had also experienced things they couldn’t explain.

Finally, I did get some evp’s on my video camera. A child’s voice is heard mummering on one file, and the other three evp’s appear to be an adult male’s voice, all having a strange quality to them, leading me to believe they couldn’t be anyone who was present. I also caught 2-3 IR plasma-like anamolies on video, that I have decided not to post, due to their quality being fairly poor as far as those particular things go. I’m nervous as it is about the orb photos.

I’m led to believe “something” is going on here, why would these folks make up these stories, in a home that really has no discernable history in particular, on a typical suburban street, and at the same time, we’re able to capture paranormal activity (regardless of the shock value) that backs it up? Validation is satisfying, no matter how sensational the results are. Picking up obviously unknown voices on digital audio in a home alone, lends some credence to these stories, not all of which may be true, but it really makes you wonder just which ones really are, and help to give these folks the comfort of knowing their experiences have basis in reality. These are very credible, normal people, who stand to gain nothing by sharing their experiences, like most of our private home owner clients. There’s more going on out there than anyone ever realized.

    Brad,
This investigation was on my house. I am one of the ladies that lives here. I wanted to thank you for taking the time and hard work in pulling this awesome information together. I know it’s allot of work and takes many hours of research. I appreciate your professionalism and interest in my situation. I hope you will be willing to come back if requested. I thought if in the warmer months if I get more activity, I would call P.I.N.K for another visit. I would love for you to join them. Everything you have documented really gave me the chills to know I am living with this in my own home. People here at work tell me to sell the house! We’ll see where this all goes, but till then….. Thank you very much!!!
    Jimmie

My name is Brad, and I am a team member of Paranormal Investigators Of Northern Kentucky (P.I.N.K.). Previously I was a member of Southern Ohio Paranormal and have also conducted independent investigations. PINK has been a highly successful group in the field and have been to many locations in the last 3 years around the OH/KY/IND area.

I have investigated, formally as a small group or with an "official team," close to 20 different private homes and government buildings, as of summer 2008. Most of the investigations were homes owned by concerned or curious residents. I also live in an active home in an Ohio River historic district, across the river from downtown Cincinnati, and it has propelled my long-time interest into a formal hobby a few years ago, helping others and cataloging the evidence of stories.

P.I.N.K. is registered with the State Of Kentucky as an offical non-profit organization. This web site does not represent P.I.N.K. or it's views necessarily, and not all of the evidence here is approved by the group. This is just a personal blog/diary of mine, as I wanted an outlet to show what I've recorded and experienced.

In any case, I welcome questions and constructive criticism of anything here.
