Update 11/25/09

Ξ November 26th, 2009 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Paranormal Worlds |

Happy Thanksgiving Paranormalworlds readers…I’ve been rather inactive for the last 2 months, as my personal life and day job change has kept me preoccupied, along with a possible career change in the works for next year. I also upgraded to Windows 7, as Vista caused complete havoc on my hard drive, ability to edit evidence, etc.., and was really causing problems for me. So after upgrading and backing up and transfering/re-installing a million programs and files, I think I’m ready to go again. (by the way I strongly recommend Windows 7 for anyone using any version of Windows)

I am currently talking to a fairly well-known cable TV network, about appearing on an episode in which they are featuring one of our previous cases. It’ll likely be in the form of an interview, and dealing with a piece of evidence I happened to catch on that particular case. Thanks to Mike Palmer for working that out with them and passing it along. I’ll update you on that news whenever I can do so ethically/legally.

In the interim I need to update a case file or two that we completed recently, and will probably start making a regular habit of posting interesting stories and links or blog articles here from now on. I do wish I were a better web designer, and also may seek professional assistance with the web site in the not-so-distant future. So keep checking back!

Brad

Great job Ghost Adventures – Pennhurst State School

Ξ November 7th, 2009 | → 4 Comments | ∇ Paranormal Worlds |

Another good episode. Why? They captured good evidence, they go to the right places, they do a good job of filling in a back story, they are enthusiastic, they make good use of their equipment and don’t just force us to trust their own eyes and ears. They don’t just do a stock “tour” before an investigation, they fill us in on the history of the place and interview several people.

I don’t care what people think of Zak and his style (it’s not about “liking people” but the results), he gets it, they focus on recorded evidence, and don’t bore us with “debunking” nonsense and the pretention of thinking we should believe what a TV actor sees or hears, that we can’t.

Kudos to them. And again, this is not an endorsement of them personally, don’t know them, just the show.

Is Ghost Hunters Just Getting Worse And Worse?

Ξ November 5th, 2009 | → 1 Comments | ∇ Paranormal Worlds |

Gosh I’d like to post something positive of late, but man tonight’s season finale was a fizzle. Buffalo Bob’s Museum? Are you kidding me? TAPS has the ability to investigate anywhere in the world if they wanted to, and they investigate two places, and don’t find anything? Did they even use fixed IR cameras? What happened to the gadgets and equipment? It seems to be all about the team members hearing silly little noises. It’s gotten really bad, lazy, and stale, and uninspiring, that’s for sure.

They had their moments this season, but they were far and few in-between. I am really bored with the whole show and tired of wasting my time, in all honesty, watching these episodes.

I did try checking out Ghost Lab last night on Discovery Channel (Tuesdays at 10) and am not sure they’re any better. They lost me when they said that a running river adjacent to the building “emitted EMF.” What? Huh? And why do they all have goatees? So 1990′s. :) (sorry couldn’t resist)

Can we get a legit TV show with “ghost hunters” who know what they’re doing please? Maybe someone with a scientific background? It’s amazing to watch these shows and how little they find, really, anyone who’s done this or has good knowledge (and of course TAPS does) should be able to come up with some interesting evidence, if a place is truly haunted. And you know, if the place isn’t, don’t waste our time airing a stupid “debunking” episode where you’re explaining away occurences with “slippery gravel and air duct noise.” Seriously, could they be anymore lame when they do that?

Look, I love what TAPS has done and don’t think they’re scam artists or anything of the sort, but their complete inability to come up with more interesting evidence the last 2-3 seasons is really disappointing. I suppose it’s all about the celebrity factor now, selling books and merchandise and generally making a mockery of this whole subject, very disappointed.

Ok end of rant and I promise to quit making negative comments about the shows. It’s sad that “Ghost Adventures” is the most interesting one out there left, and that’s because of the whackiness and the fact they inject humor, much like “Destination Truth,” which I often enojy as well, if nothing else becasuse Josh is a great, funny host and it’s neat to see the locations and cultures they visit.

OK Ghost Hunters Live

Ξ November 1st, 2009 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Paranormal Worlds |

Disappointed they are just playing “best of” episode compliations, versus doing a live investigation of a reputably active place.

GA’s live was entertaining last night, if nothing else because of the silly/crazy nature of it, and the characters. You could hear what they were hearing and they played EVP’s and video evidence back immediately etc.., Aside from the “Para Box” joker, which was actually pretty amusing, it was fun to watch. It’s hard to take the TV shows seriously beyond what they legitimately catch, so it might as well be filled with kooky people.

Grant and Jason seem to be “doing a job” and taking advantage of a ride while it lasts…can’t blame them to an extent, but at this point they seem to be doing little to push things forward or provide for a more entertaining show. I’m thinking the “Ghost Hunter Academy” isn’t an evolutionary step for better understanding of spirit phenomenon.

Welcome, I am a veteran member of "P.I.N.K.," here in Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati. I sort of fell into this years ago after living in an active home, and I/we have since been invited to dozens of homes and businesses, of people who are experiencing strange phenomenon. It's led to all kinds of unforeseen and fun events, TV filming, outings, a book, short documentary, and dozens of private investigations by request. A lot of older material still exists here, so forgive the amateur nature of that, and new cases will be arriving soon. Thanks for stopping by.
