PINK as well as myself are featured in Karen Laven's latest book, "Cincinnati Ghosts." You can pick up
a copy at any regional Border's, Barnes And Noble or on Amazon.com.
Percy Seymour's book is a highly technical read on yet unproven Physics theories that
point to the existence of a third dimension, which we call the paranormal, as it
relates to human death, time and space.
Cincinnati Cemetaries is a nice coffee book style account of Cincinnati's oldest and most historically relevant cemetaries. It
covers Spring Grove Cemetary in an in-depth fashion and is a great reference if you live in the area. Highly recommended.
I updated the history/Pearl Bryan Murder section of the Bobby Mackey section (see link to lower right under “Cases”), adding in some info about the Mafia era days, as that part of the history summary was missing.
For kicks thought I would post some of my favorite captures from the P.I.N.K. investigations. Remember not all of these are “official” evidence files of PINK, nor is there always consensus, these are just my personal files and diary of sorts, keep in mind. The two videos of the Newport home are just recorded experiences from where I live, as it’s given me the opportunity to study the last 2.5+ years, and were not done with P.I.N.K..
#5 – In the spring I decided to put an IR camera downstairs in the unoccupied cellar (storage and laundry only) overnight (from approx 2am-6am on a Sunday morning). The one cellar door here locks from the outside right under where we sleep, and could possibly date back to the late 1700’s (the foundation any ways). You hear a door slam loudly and some other small noises, as if someone is right behind the camera or in the room. No other door closing/openings could be heard the rest of the night on the tape, and there’s no explanation for the loud slam in a locked down, stone basement at 4am on a Sunday morning. This is at the home where I live in, in Newport, KY., where other activity has also been recorded.
#4 – At a home in Goshen OH, I caught a couple of EVP’s, including this one that is a very clear female apparently whispering “Is that real.” While there were 2 females in the house that night, neither were in the room at the time, and the client commented that he thought he heard a voice right after this. My only real regret is cutting the file too short at the end, reducing it’s quality and validity quite a bit. I learned from it, and no longer have the master file. But I still stand by it! You can hear the male client say at the end, “What, what was that?”
#3 – At a home in Burlington KY, that was having problems with attacks on one family member, as well as the gamut of voices, footsteps and shadow figures, I happened to catch what appears to be a young child’s voice, in one of the kid’s bedrooms. The only problem is that both children were spending the night at a relative’s, and no children were ever in the home that night.
#2 – I left an IR camera overnight in the “parlor room” of our home here, and closed the door for the night. We were asleep the entire time and no one else was in the house, getting into this room would require sliding open a HUGE wooden door, the size of a wall. The room has been used as an office by a prominent Newport citizen during the Victorian period, a parlor where lay outs were held, and the mansion next door was an Undertaker’s for many years until the 1970’s I believe, in addition to having a colonial era history due to it’s location on the river across from downtown Cincinnati. This room is where most of the activity here has been recorded, and I spend a lot of time in it when home, and have never, ever heard these loud whacking noises in the room. This video still gives me chills, since I sit in here so often, knowing the room was completely shut off for the night, and these were coming from inside the room. Everything but the hard drive camcorder was turned off, and there just isn’t any explanation for all of the noises. Watch it all the way through (2+ minutes). I cut out the parts with no activity and recorded in subtitles, mentioning the # of minutes that pass between each of the sets of noises.
#1 – In Ft. Mitchell, KY I caught this EVP in a classroom on a floor of a building that was thought to be haunted by a former employee (I can only say that it was a Nun). The voice has that definite “EVP quality” to it, and what she says is surprising, as she appears to be pleading or having trouble communicating with us, with her voice. It really makes you wonder if these people know that they’ve passed on.
…trespassing kids seeing something that isn’t there in their IR on video, that’s making the rounds on the net, for some odd reason.
The first part looks like discoloration on the back wall behind the doorway, the 2nd part is just the back of the chair playing tricks on the shape of the Sony IR extender.
The still photo shown looks nothing like the video of the “spirit” in the doorway, and is obviously faked.
It’s a shame people even pay attention to this, but some folks think it’s genuine.
I have yet to ever see a convincing, relatively clear, no-doubt apparition of a human on video (or a photo for that matter).
“Paranormal Celebrities” show up and charge political fund raiser plate prices ($140-$190 a head) to “investigate” with them, meet them, etc.., No mention of funds going to help preserve the home or the properties.
I feel sorry, to an extent, for the folks who go to these things, expecting to know what a real investigation is like, or to experience anything.
Oops, I forgot the unwritten rule of the paranormal community…do not question or criticize TAPS or their celebrities…and if you question Chip Coffey…he will travel through his psychic wormhole and strike you down where you stand!
Any ways, just being silly, but below is the press release I’m referring to. It’s really not that big of a deal, but I’ve just never understood or have been interested in the over-priced public “investigations” (they’re anything but). It seems exploitative and could take the field into a place people like myself and others, don’t want to see it go.

Schellene Clendenin for Salem-News.com
(SALEM, Ore.) – In a city that attracts crowds for Mardi Gras celebrations and blues festivals, beautiful architecture and fine cuisine, New Orleans is, in some circles, even more famous for its established inhabitants.
It’s a shame they’re all dead.
Many bars and shops boast of their ghostly inhabitants. Even La Petite Theatre du Vieux Carre is known for strange happenings and the eerie ghost Caroline. Reports say that Caroline was an actress at the theatre in the 1920s.
She died, they say, when she was dallying with the director of the playhouse and fell off the balcony onto the flagstones below.
According to witnesses, the dead actress often finds things for the production crew.
PINK is investigating a private home this Saturday, with complaints involving two children, where the mother has even threatened to take them and leave, due to the activity. I don’t have a lot of details yet (not unusual) but will update the site after Saturday, as appropriate since it is a confidential case.
