We’re due to investigate Bobby Mackey’s this Sunday, April 29th. We’ll have plenty of equipment and the entire investigation will be filmed. So look for updates next week and possible evidence or video coverage.
We have a team of five and a 2 person film crew of sorts who will shadow us at times.
If we find nothing but experience enough to justify going back to re-investigate later this year, then we’ll do that most likely.
Thanks for visiting the site as always, and for being patient while the web site grows a bit with cases over the next year.
Security guards report creepy sounds, sensations at long-closed prison.

ALCATRAZ ISLAND, Calif. – Each day at sundown, when the last tour boat departs this desolate, wind-swept outpost, one lonesome soul is left behind. He’s the night watchman of Alcatraz.
Guided by the beam of his flashlight, Gregory Johnson inches down the gloomy infirmary ward of this retired prison, once home to the nation’s most malicious killers and psychotic criminal malcontents.
“Hey, what’s that noise?” he asks, throwing the light against the half-open door of a solitary confinement cell.
Since I was a young child, I have been confident there is another life after this one. How do I know? I have regular contact with it, and have done for as long as I can remember.
I accept the cynics will label me as deranged, but they’ve never seen tables tip over of their own volition, glass tumblers move around untouched and a CD holder lift off the floor and hang in the air for several seconds.

The basement was cold and dark. An eerie blue light pierced the darkness just a few feet from me. Was this some sort of sign from the beyond? Well, I wouldn’t go that far. It was Grant Wilson, from SciFi Channel’s “Ghost Hunters” series, illuminating an electro-magnetic field reader as he checked the copper pipes on the ceiling.
“Do you feel kind of spooked out down here?” he asked.
I’d been in the basement of the Houghton Mansion, more commonly known as the Masonic Temple, on Church Street in North Adams, on several occasions. It’s almost always been dark and cold on my visits. And even though the basement was full of other people, floating around in the dark with their cameras, digital recorders and video cameras in an attempt to catch images of a paranormal entity, I still found it a little creepy.
“See those pipes?” Wilson asked, pointing toward the ceiling. “They’re all made out of copper. Copper gives off an electro-magnetic frequency that’s known to make people feel nervous, nauseous or paranoid. The frequency of these pipes is low, but there’s a lot down here.”

Whispers Within The Silence
.
The photograph of the Orb (above) taken last summer just one block from Abraham Lincoln’s Home led me to search out those in our historic community who may have witnessed unusual phenomena.
One local blogger has made several references to such encounters recently. I’ll leave it to my readers to encourage this brave young woman to share her stories with the rest of us.
I too have seen my share of unusual phenomena, and have been reluctant to share.
Springfield, Illinois may seem like a typical little town living a typical little daydream, but there’s something deeper going on here - and has been for a very long time.
Something seems to be taking place at a level which barely registers. Like echoes bouncing within the miles of abandoned coal mines which run under our city the stories of these strange phenomena seem to bounce from one person, and one generation to the next.
